Shami Kebab

Shami Kebab is a soft, juicy kebab made from minced meat, lentils, and a variety of spices. It is commonly served as a snack or appetizer during special occasions and is a favorite in Pakistani cuisine.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g beef or mutton, minced
  • 1/2 cup split chickpeas (chana dal)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Boil the minced meat and split chickpeas in water with onions, ginger-garlic paste, and salt until tender.
  2. Once cooked, drain the mixture and grind it into a smooth paste.
  3. Add cumin seeds, green chilies, coriander powder, turmeric, and garam masala to the mixture.
  4. Shape the mixture into small patties or round kebabs.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the kebabs until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or raita.
