Shami Kebab
Shami Kebab is a soft, juicy kebab made from minced meat, lentils, and a variety of spices. It is commonly served as a snack or appetizer during special occasions and is a favorite in Pakistani cuisine.
Ingredients:
- 500 g beef or mutton, minced
- 1/2 cup split chickpeas (chana dal)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions:
- Boil the minced meat and split chickpeas in water with onions, ginger-garlic paste, and salt until tender.
- Once cooked, drain the mixture and grind it into a smooth paste.
- Add cumin seeds, green chilies, coriander powder, turmeric, and garam masala to the mixture.
- Shape the mixture into small patties or round kebabs.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the kebabs until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot with chutney or raita.
