Kheer (Rice Pudding)
Chicken Karahi is a spicy and flavorful curry made in a wok-like pan called “karahi.” It’s cooked with ginger, garlic, tomatoes, and green chilies for a bold, aromatic taste.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chilies, sliced
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander for garnish
- 3 tbsp oil
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a karahi (wok) and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until they turn brown.
- Stir in tomatoes, green chilies, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Cook until the tomatoes soften and oil separates.
- Add a little water, cover, and simmer until the chicken is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with naan or rice.
